Our Developmental Intervention and Support sessions offer a focused opportunity for children, adolescents and families experiencing one or two specific difficulties. These one-off, 90-minute sessions provide a supportive environment to explore challenges and develop appropriate evidence-based strategies.
Focused Exploration: We will examine the identified issues, taking into account the developmental history of the child or adolescent involved, to develop a thorough understanding of the one or two pressing issues your child is experiencing.
Safe Space for Discussion: Parents and families are encouraged to engage and share their concerns in a confidential and supportive setting that fosters understanding and support in the problem-solving process.
Information and Guidance: We will provide insight, advice, and potential strategies tailored to your unique situation by a Registered Psychologist.
Recommendations: At the end of the session, we may suggest referrals, resources, or the possibility of ongoing therapy based on the discussions.
Written Summary: A brief written report summary of the session, outlining key insights, recommendations, and next steps to support your child and family moving forward will be provided. This report can be shared with schools and other treating practitioners and is included in the session cost.
These sessions are suitable for individuals and families with children aged 4-17 years experiencing behavioural, emotional, or developmental challenges and seeking professional guidance.
To make the most of your session, consider the specific issues you'd like to discuss and bring any relevant background information (e.g. previous assessment reports, school reports or medical information).
A referral is not required however if you have one, please bring this along to your session.
